1) Find a Great Team

Get your team built. Get your accountant, handyman, cleaner, landscaping etc. These people will help you keep your tenants happy. If you can build a great team you can rely on it will be a huge life saver. The relationships you build with your team goes a long way!

2) Set Expectations Early

Once you and your tenants know what is expected it makes it much easier to know what needs to be done. Be on the same page as your tenants about lease terms and continue that frequent communication. Make those decisions beforehand so when you do have to make those sometimes-difficult decisions you don’t have to worry. Be proactive and set the bar.

3) Remember Your Tenants are People

Sometimes as landlords we get into seeing through these lenses where our tenants are just our moneymakers. We need to remember that our tenants are people too. They have issues and problems just as we do. Don’t get so involved in your own self that you forget to treat them like people too.
