Housing Advocate FAQ's

Q-What is a Housing Advocate?

A- An employee whose job is to advocate on behalf of the tenants. The housing advocate serves as an important bridge between tenant, owner and property manager.

Q-Why is a Housing Advocate so important?

A- We’ve seen that too many renters are losing housing because they don’t know where to find resources that can help them.

Q- What is Netgain hoping to accomplish by hiring a housing advocate? A- At its most basic level I hope that this hire will help my tenants be able to maintain stable housing. Tenants should feel that they can reach out to the housing advocate anytime with questions or concerns they might have.

Q-What resources are available to renters?

A-Rental Assistance, Deposit Assistance, Food Pantry, Mental Health, and job coaching.

Q-Why was Shaunna the right hire?

A-From the first time we first talked I could tell that she cared about people which was the most important thing that I was looking for. The other thing that made her the right fit was her background working for a staffing agency meant that she had experience dealing with many of the issues that she will face here.
